Books on Illustration

One of the first things I would like to point out here, are the two books I'm reading right now, 
one is called "Starting your career as a freelance illustrator or graphic designer" written by Michel Fleishman, in English and the second one is called "Professiya illustrator: uchimsya myslit tvorcheski" which is obviously in Russian. English title is "Profession - Illustrator. Creative thinking" written by Natalie Ratkovski, a russian illustrator, living in Germany and I've been following for a while now. 
Both books seems to be very interesting and I'm planing to post more on them, 
as I will come along with reading.

Tori Amos 3D typography work

Even though done a while ago, I still love this work a lot! This was one of my graduation work in typography. I decided to devote it to my favorite musician - Tori Amos. I designed and produced a 3D pop up book, including the design of twelve Tori's songs I love the most and did an installation with hand cut out typography, each one differently designed and carrying a title of this twelve songs...

New Japan book project

Dig out the work I've done for a japan book project. It was a collaboration between my art school, design department and the literature department, Frankfurt university. The book is supposed to introduce some of the modern and famos japan writers and their newest work. Me and other illustrators got a chance to provide illustrations for this project. I've got several authors to choose from and did their portrait and illustration for their work. So here are the portraits and illustrations I've done.

I want to post also some of my older work before posting some new work, so here I dug out a color pencil and pen drawing.

Ok I was sick for a while. It's almost winter time, which means "getting sick time" for me as always! But during this time I've decided: since at least for the moment there is not much people there, viewing my blog I will post things - important to me, as a sort of a timeline for myself to remember. Even though I always thought I would newer bee one of those people posting all kind of crap (like food pictures etc.) online, but I promise to post only some good and "VIP" stuff here, which might be even interesting for someone. Hehe….
