Ampel Magazin issue 10

Today I would like to show here a little six page comic I've done last year. I was very happy and honored to be able to submit a small contribution of my work to the Switzerland comic magazine Ampel Magazin. The anniversary Issue Nr. 10 was surrounded around the scandinavian country topic, in the 1940s. I came up with an idea about a jewish painter, who has lost his wife as they were trying to escape the nazi regime over the boarder. Now before trying to escape the county for the second time, he paints an image of his wife on a huge poster und hangs it down at the house where they used to live, for everybody to see...

Digital I had to add an additional color to the pages but I like it in gray scale better

Happy New Year! Year of a Blue Horse

Ok, its a new year already alright! Since the new year is a year of a blue horse, I made a little quick sketch of it as a sort of my appreciation and hopefully this new year will be successful and full of new assignments and jobs. Let as all work as hard as a horse!

Books on Illustration

One of the first things I would like to point out here, are the two books I'm reading right now,
one is called "Starting your career as a freelance illustrator or graphic designer" written by Michel Fleishman, in English and the second one is called "Professiya illustrator: uchimsya myslit tvorcheski" which is obviously in Russian. English title is "Profession - Illustrator. Creative thinking" written by Natalie Ratkovski, a russian illustrator, living in Germany and I've been following for a while now.
Both books seems to be very interesting and I'm planing to post more on them,
as I will come along with reading.

Book "Profession - Illustrator. Creative thinking" Publisher "Mann, Ivanov & Ferber", Moscow 2011
(In Russian: "Профессия - иллюстратор. Учимся мыслить творчески")
